Description

The Samura #240/800 combination water sharpening stone is a Japanese block designed for coarse processing, restoration and preparation of kitchen knives for further sharpening. It is suitable for knives of different sizes and shapes when intensive metal removal is required.
Brief
#240 and #800 grits are used for operations performed before regular sharpening: restoring the sharpening angle, blade geometry and cutting edge.
Functionality
This combination stone can remove chips, nicks, cracks and other defects that appear during knife use. It can also help adjust blade thickness when the knife is heavily worn or requires deeper restoration.
Working process
The #240 side is intended for very coarse processing and intensive metal removal. The #800 side is used for more controlled preliminary sharpening and for preparing the cutting edge for further work with finer stones.
Non-slip base
For convenient use, the stone is placed on a special rubber platform. It helps keep the block securely fixed on the table and prevents slipping during sharpening.
