Description

Traditional glazed crockery from Rishtan, one of the most ancient towns in the Fergana Valley. Many centuries ago, potters accounted for the entire male population of Rishtan. There are deposits of remarkable clay in the area; it practically does not require any additions.

Rishtan dishes can be distinguished by their bright colors and abundant ornaments. Each item is unique and inimitable; you cannot find a single repeating pattern in the ornament. The pattern is always tiny and delicate, and the ornament consists of an enormous number of elements. Absolutely all the shades of blue and turquoise can be seen here. By the way, if a “Rishtan” dish looks impeccable, without a single flaw, you may be sure it’s a fake!

Dishes from the “Rishtan” collection can decorate any home, filling it with charming nuances of the East. The unique exquisite “Rishtan” patterns are believed to serve as protective charms and become guardians of the family hearth.

Note: handmade! This collection is made of red clay; it is not intended for use in a microwave or dishwasher!
